WASHING AND CARE

TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR FAVOURITES

Our products are made to last a long time, when also taking care of them in the right way, they last even longer – good for both people and the planet. But it is important to avoid unnecessary washing since washing negatively impact the environment and the garment's life span. Below you will find tips on how to best care for your garment.

Remember:

  • Not to wash garments in technical materials unnecessarily, it is often enough to air the garment or to carefully wipe away a stain. However, a dirty technical material has less breathability and in the long run also less water repellency.
  • To carefully follow the specific product's washing instructions.
  • To close zippers, buttons and velcro straps to avoid extra wear and tear during washing.
  • That if the product has synthetic fur trim at the hood, it is important to remove it before washing.
  • Not to use fabric softener as this decreases the technical function.

Even if the care instructions are followed, the water repellency will gradually be washed away and the product needs to be re-impregnated to regain its original water repellency. Use an impregnation that is free from PFAS, e.g. OrganoTex. Always follow the product's washing instructions when impregnating.

Down Jackets and Coats

Our down products are machine washable. Always follow the garment's care instructions and avoid fabric softener as it can damage the down. Prevent unnecessary wear by closing zippers, buttons, and velcro straps. Always tumble dry the down products inside out. Use a longer cycle with a medium temperature of up to 40°C and add a few tennis balls to the dryer to evenly distribute the down. Ensure the garment is completely dry after drying to avoid clumps and uneven distribution of the down. Shake the garment during and after drying for the best results. Also, keep in mind that frequently washing in hot water is very energy-intensive and also affects the lifespan of the garment. So, it's better to air out your garment rather than washing it unnecessarily, and try to remove individual stains instead of washing the entire garment.

Super Stretch Pants and Suits

Garments made from Super Stretch material can be easily washed in a regular washing machine. Start by removing the belt before washing. Remove any stains before placing the garment in the machine. For best results, use liquid detergent and avoid fabric softener, as it can negatively affect the garment's membrane by clogging its pores. Spin the garment at low speeds. After washing, the garment can be tumbled dry for about 10 minutes when it's dry, or it can be gently ironed to reactivate the water-repellent DWR coating. These steps will preserve the garment's functionality after washing.

Shell Jackets and Pants

Our shell garments can be easily washed in a regular washing machine. Treat any stains before placing them in the machine. For the best results, use liquid detergent and avoid fabric softener, as it can negatively affect the membrane's function by clogging the pores. Spin at low speeds. After washing, the garment can be tumble-dried for about 15 minutes when dry, or alternatively, gently ironed to reactivate the water-repellent DWR treatment. These actions will preserve the garment's function and technical performance after washing.

Primaloft® Jackets

You can wash our Primaloft® garments in a regular washing machine. Always make sure to follow the garment's specific care instructions and avoid using fabric softener. Garments with Primaloft® filling should not be tumble-dried but air-dried after washing. This ensures that the garment retains both its technical properties and its original appearance.

Tech Sweat and Tech Tee

Our technical sweaters and T-shirts are easy to wash in a regular washing machine. Follow the care instructions and avoid using fabric softener. To save energy and extend the garment's lifespan, it's recommended to avoid tumble drying them. How often you should wash your garment in Tech Sweat or Tech Tee material varies depending on your activity level and amount of sweat.

Wool

Wool has natural dirt-repelling and antibacterial properties, meaning that often simply airing a wool garment outdoors or in a slightly humid environment is enough to refresh it. When it's necessary to wash the garment, it's important to follow the specific care instructions. Use the washing machine's wool program at a maximum of 30°C and preferably choose a detergent specifically designed for wool materials. This will help prolong the lifespan of the wool garment. Avoid using fabric softener. Wool items must not be washed too hot to prevent shrinkage. Select the wool program on the washing machine and avoid programs with excessive treatment to prevent felting. Using a laundry bag will yield the best results. Occasionally, wool garments may develop pilling during use, which is normal. These can be easily removed by gently pulling them off.

Polartec® Fleece

Our fleece garments can be washed in a regular washing machine. To preserve the soft and fluffy feel, you should wash your fleece garment at a low temperature. Follow the given care instructions and do not use fabric softener. Do not tumble dry your fleece products, as this saves energy and extends the lifespan of the garments. How often you should wash your fleece garment varies depending on activity and sweating.

S.Café

Garments made from S-Café material can be washed in a regular washing machine. Always follow the care instructions provided for the garment. Do not use fabric softener. If the garment has prints, it should be washed inside out. To both save energy and increase the lifespan of the garment, we recommend avoiding tumble drying.

Cotton

The majority of cotton garments are easy to wash in a regular washing machine. Always make sure to follow the provided care instructions for each garment. Avoid using fabric softener. Garments with prints or decorations should be washed inside out. To both save energy and preserve the shape and lifespan of the garments, they should not be tumble dried.

CARE & REPAIR

Our clothes are designed with very durable materials and components from market-leading suppliers. But a fabric can still tear if it meets a razor-sharp ski and a technical material needs re-impregnation after many washes to maintain its performance. We offer products and advise to make your garments last for many years to come.
